How are you going to Downplay someone's intelligence yet not even get their message .

His point isn't that white people adopt to another genre of music they unfairly become the face of said genre, and get untrue praise for being original/innovative/unique.

All the while ignoring black artists contributions to the genre despite being just as good if not better than the white counterpart

It's an attack on the white privilege/racism that is still rife within the music world

Maybe he's talking about the record labels, the people behind these type of award shows, etc. They are probably biased.
I dont think pop radio has anything to do with it, rap just isnt "in" right now so you'll just see Iggy, Nicki and the occasional random rent-a-rapper pop up. 10 years ago it wasnt like this, and there were plenty of rappers (pretty much all black) getting played on pop radio because it was the sound that people wanted.
