Yes, I am not sure if me convincing the judges by making an explanation that tends to link a certain song about death could just make me look trying hard or delusional

As long as you're not reaching, eg trying to convince me Katy Perry's Birthday is about death, you should be fine. We are now at a point in the game where being creative and original is becoming more important (as long as it isn't over the top and still plausible as I said).
