Are the teen stars nowadays becoming too over-sexulaized? I don't want to be the cranky grandpa, but I've been noticing a lot of these new stars, many under 18, are trying too hard with the sexiness. Austin Mahone whole career seems to be based on sexy photo-shoots and he's barely 18. A Becky G stan has a gif on here where she rehearsing for a performance doing all these sexy dance moves and she's 17. That's totally opposite her original image. Only one girl in 5H is 18, but Boss and their new song videos are also pushing the sex appeal. And Bella Thorne Where are her parents? Britney got a lot of flack for this in the 90s, but people seem really over look it now.

I was thinking this the other day when I saw an Ariana Grande video - I know she's not a teenager any more, but she frankly doesn't look older than 16 and it's... weird.

I think there used to be a far clearer distinction between the "girls" and the "women" - since Britney's early years, there's been a much greater focus on the "ingénue" in pop music, with this uncomfortable Lolita-esque aesthetic. A bit disturbing.

I don't think today's teen stars are overly sexualized. Ariana is really the only big one at the moment, and she's not even a teenager.
