To put it in a perspectice, some musicians are moaning, not by Lorde, but how sparse money they get from Sportify so they pull out.
The best musician of all time was also the first independent musician - he was quite rich and he was the most famous musican of his time, most played of course, probably 'till today and for the next thousand years and everyone of his peers was in awe.
When he died he left a fortune of, in todays currency, $250k inclusive house.
His name was Ludwig van Beethoven.

Team winning SOTY  Totally deserves it. I'm trying not to give too much away about my Best of 2014 list but I have a feeling Team will be in my top 10

I'm not sure when they measure the "year" from, but it has shifted at least another platinum certification in 2014 at least, which is pretty good by NZ artist standards. Team and Tennis Court were also in the same category
edit: Come to think of it, I don't think there would be any other NZ singles which have outsold it if it were this year alone 
She definitely deserved it. Team was robbed with a #3 peak here. Would have definitely gone #1 if it wasn't for Tennis Court having smashed a little while before. I'm glad this at least redeems that injustice

Yellow Flicker Beat rises to a new peak of #65 on the Hot 100 this week. Promising news considering that with the AMA and Jimmy Fallon performances, we should be in for a rise again next week
I'll also be interested to see how the change in the BB200 rules affect Pure Heroine (if at all). I'll be sure to post here if there's any significant change

Now it's showing 4,443,627 plays, presumably because it gained some since yesterday.

There is more than one link/version of YFB and the one you see appears to depend on which country you are in.

I'm not sure why they do that. Perhaps this is something to do with the incorporation of streaming into the Billboard 200 or perhaps the record labels want to split US and non US markets and negotiate a separate deal for each?
It's annoying for us chart stats geeks.

Just checking the numbers, if we go back 5 weeks we can see Pure Heroine worldwide sales and US sales.

The US sales total has gone from 1,455,699 to 1,479,000.
The difference is about 23,000.
Add the 23,000 US sales to that previous 2,776,000 WW number and we would have a WW total of 2,799,000 without any new sales outside the USA. Obviously there have been more than 1000 copies sold outside the US in the last 5 weeks.
Therefore, the new WW total for Pure Heroine is 2.8 million.
