But when Katy destroyed Gaga last year with album and single sales the little monsters were like 'Of course Katy is going to sell more because her TD era was huge). According to that logic Applause and ARTPOP should be selling millions considering HOW BIG AND SUCCESFUL the BTW era was.

The reason WHY Monsters says its not bad is bcoz Gaga now has a total of 500 million touring gross. Thats half a billion dollars in 6 years. NO other Pop girl in the history of Pop Music has grossed that much in that amount of time.

Sure, $85 million is way less than 182 million but the tour was also way shorter than BTWB & the era also underperformed. But she still managed to have a very successful tour with 78 shows & 24 countries.

Madonna, who is the biggest female touring force in the world, has gone up & down in touring gross all of her career, sometimes due to less dates than a previous tour or other factors, now that doesn't take away from her previous slayage. Same with Gaga.

BTW didn't sell 800k more than TD.

And you know damn well that TD was bigger, not only because of bigger hits, bigger videos, more airplay, and because the album is still selling in 2014, but also because BTW was the reason why Applause and ARTPOP underperformed.

You are so pathetic that you need to use inflated receipts, we could do the same with PRISM and TD, because multiple sources like Capitol and IFPI reported bigger sales than 3.5M and 6.5M but we don't need to.... Katy is slaying and that's it.

TD sold 5.7m by the end of 2012 according to mediatraffic

it sold 300k in the US alone since then, its around 6.5m now and its STILL selling in the US and Australia.

It will probably start selling even more next year when she goes to Europe.

You can't argue because you have nothing. BTW sold somewhere close to 6M copies in 2011 with 800K+ more in shipments for that years. It sold another 300K alone in January 2012, all before she began her massively successful tour. Keep pretending they sold the same, it's just cringe-tastic.

Nobody would deny TD had more hits and certainly lasted much better (though with a re-release) but the idea it makes it bigger when it sold less and had a much less successful tour by comparison to Gaga's is She certainly got closer to Gaga's success after being galaxies away prior to the eras, but PRISM/ARTPOP is when Katy overtook Gaga in current sales.
