Just cuz' the group is organized in an unfair way doesn't mean it also should give the credit the the lead singer...The lead singer isn't doing all the job, it's only more noticeable.
If it wasn't for the others the group wouldn't exist, besides, Nicole only became the star after the group got successful so you can't say Nicole made the group, it happen together or more like the other way around.
Same with DC.
The only diff' is that in PCD, they probably found Nicole the best as the front singer while in DC, well, we all know why she's in the front, not that I disrespect her abilities.
