Christina's bad too, the debut especially. and B2B is pretty unknown but it's over-said.

Can't forget the hive also claiming DIL sold 13 million, Xtina fans claiming her debut sold 17 million and Stripped sold 13 million, Britney fans claiming BOMT sold 30 million, Lady Gaga fans claiming BTW sold 8 million. They're probably the most guilty fanbases!

I never see Rihanna fans inflating sales, if anything it's adding like 200k here and there to Una and TTT's total sales to make up for the lack of sales updates over the past two years

Adding 200k to an album's sales every two or three months is the epitome of inflating. If you can't update sales because the album isn't charting, it isn't likely that it's going to be selling 200k every two months.

I think people underestimate her debut. It did over 9.214M just in the U.S. (8.28 through Nielsen Soundscan and 935k through Sony BMG) and that's excluding Columbia House numbers (which was bigger than Sony BMG; she probably sold over 1M there). I usually see claims of 13-15M and, since it did over 1M in Europe (450k+ in the UK alone), over 600k in Canada and 250k+ in Japan (that's another 1.85M copies), it isn't hard to believe those estimates.

You all get so easily confused because the certifications are outdated and not exact numbers. Jive went under in 2011 and stopped spending money on re-certifying albums in 2004 (the last time catalogue albums got re-certified for ANY Jive albums got re-certified). BO only got a handful of certifications within its first weeks of availability and then RCA finally certified it Platinum (after it sold over 1M in the U.S.) as a sign of goodwill once Britney signed with them in late 2011.

Every two or three months? What kind of selective reading? I said 200k or so over the past year or two. Like even if Unapologetic has only been selling 3-4k ww per week since January that's still an additional 150k added to its confirmed total of 3.5 million. It's called estimations and considering those messy, unreliable and extremely rounded-up Blackout numbers you posted above I can't see why you would have a problem with that.

Even Ron Fair confirmed on that vh1 special a couple years ago that her debut sold 17+ million albums alone.
