I believe all of Gaga's albums have taken around the same amount of time. The only exception being TFM since it was a short album.
TF - 2008
TFM - 2009
BTW - 2011
ARTPOP - 2013 (was going to come out in 2012 but was pushed back until after the tour and then pushed back even more when she hurt her hip)
This next album, though... might be the longest she has taken, but that's obviously just because she's doing other things at the moment.

Schieße used to be my most played but it was overtaken by DWUW, Venus, Applause and Brooklyn Nights 
It's still so amazing though. Her BTWB performances were everything and I wish I saw that live.

I still absolutely cannot believe so many people both here and offline dragged Applause to hell and back. It is such an anthem. It's catchy, it's smart (if you actually look into the lyrics), and it's just so Gaga. What more could you ask for?
