I was shocked immediately when I saw this. It was the first entry I received; yet honestly it’s probably the best. I considered the possibility of a parent/child duet when I posted the challenge, but nothing like this. My second time reading over it I had chills. I had tears in my eyes in the bridge. Of course not everything was 100% perfect in the phrasing, but I don’t think it’s fair to criticize this song in any way after what it did to me.

I'm glad that it turned out okay! I thought afterwards that I ought to have sat on a bit to see if I could expand it, but I was a bit scared over the execution of the concept.

I just wanted to explain the nuances and my thought process further, but I honestly agree with you. Like, reading it back, there are some really awkward constructions in there. Lol maybe I overreacted a bit?
