Is it best to go with the obvious choice or is it possible to send a not so well known or obvious song, which lyrically 100% matches the criteria, and still get 10 points?

Just asking for future entries.

Don't do the obvious choices, they're boring to look at. You can send any song that fits the theme, even if no one else has ever heard of it. If it is a lyric-centred round, it will still get you a 10.

Anna - 4 - I don’t see how it has to do with cheating, it’s a reach.

Zum Beispiel das Lied "Chocolate". Das habe ich geschrieben, nachdem ich mich betrunken und meine Freundin betrogen habe. Ich weiß nicht, was mich damals dazu getrieben hat. Zumal ich sie vorher auch schon einmal betrogen und danach Jahre gebraucht habe, um mein Leben wieder in den Griff zu kriegen. Kaum ist alles wieder gut, gehe ich wieder fremd. Warum? Mein Leben ist damals vollständig in sich zusammen gebrochen. Das Seltsame an dem Lied ist, dass es einen unbeschwerten, fast fröhlichen Rhythmus hat, obwohl es aus einer der schwierigsten Phasen meines Lebens stammt. Der Hörer merkt davon nichts.

we don't search the internet for interviews with the artist explaining the song. we just look at the lyrics. and why are you singling me out when other judges said the same?

There's nothing wrong with obvious choices. If they fit, they fit. It's not your fault they're well known. No need to scour the internet for weird choices if a perfectly good one comes to mind immediately. Confessions Part I got a great score from all three of us and it's an obvious choice.

If you have an unknown song, it is still possible to get 10s. 10s aren't reserved for songs I know. I'm probably a little harder on songs I don't know though because I have to really look at the lyrics.
