Why is a surprise release being speculated? Is there a reason or just discussion? It would be cool but I don't know if that's what this era is about. It's meant to tell a story and I feel like a surprise release will get in the way of that.

A surprise single tomorrow would be far more likely, I'd even go as far as to say a given. Only for Urban, something else for Pop. Perfect.

Because her biggest audience and fans are in pop and urban, which makes up most of the Top 40. She still has to market the album.

But yes, I agree with the above posts, my faith is restored knowing she isn't writing and rapping for radio and hopefully the album experiments and is the classic she's hinting that it is.

Oh okay. No, I think it would be a really bad idea because it would draw comparisons and I really want The Pinkprint to shine as it's own work instead of drawing headlines claiming things that aren't true.
