Welcome castaways to the 9th results show of the season! Below will be your individual scores from each judge. After those are announced, I will post your final team averages as well as other statistics for you all to look at. The lowest final team average will be heading to Tribal Council to send one of their members home.
This round was your standard 1-10 rate with a comment.
For a general idea of what each score means, I have a little explanation for each one.
10 = Perfect.
9 - 9.5 = Great but not the best.
8 - 8.5 = Good but not great.
7 - 7.5 = Fits decent but something is off about it.
6 - 6.5 = Somewhat relates to the topic but falls flat for whatever reason.
5 - 5.5 = Barely anything to do with the subject at all.
4 - 4.5 = Virtually nothing to do with the topic at all.
3 - 3.5 = Doesn't relate in any way whatsoever.
2 - 2.5 = Horrible but not 1 worthy.
1 - 1.5 = The worst possible example to submit.
With that said, let's get started...
Tribe Bonbondi

1. gotintoririfever1 - Amy Winehouse - You Know I'm No Good
Quote:
Dylan - 7 - She definitely cheated which is further than some people got this round. But it doesn't really sound like she's that sorry. She seems like she knew this was going to happen regardless of whatever happened. It's halfway there for me.

The adultery is there, and I feel like there is remorse for it but I'm struggling finding specific examples of remorse. It was a good choice, it's just not quite as obvious as it could have been. "You know I'm no good" could have been like a "you should have known better!"-type thing, although I really don't think it was meant that way.

Anna - 7 - She cheated but I don’t see as much of regret as I see a feeling of helplessness and awareness that their relationship is doomed anyway.
2. prezli - Snow Patrol - Chocolate
Quote:
Dylan - 9 - I guess I'm alone here with this rate. I actually totally see the cheating comparison. Chocolate's something you shouldn't have but it's too good to resist. There's clear remorse throughout the song and I immediately thought cheating based off the title/lyrics. Cool choice.

Adultery? Maybe, it could be about it but it also could be about something else. Remorse? Yes but "Just because I'm sorry doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it at the time." is a little too non-remorseful for me. Not a very clear choice.
Quote:
Anna - 4 - I don’t see how it has to do with cheating, it’s a reach.
3. Speezy - Usher - Confessions Pt. II
Quote:
Dylan - 9 - I think part one may suit this round a little better since it's more focused on the actual cheating but this is definitely an apology for cheating so I'm not mad. Good choice.

Adultery? Yes, and he got the bitch pregnant. Remorse? Yes, "wishing that I never did what I did". Obvious and stellar choice.
Quote:
Anna - 7 - Sorry but Pt I fits better. This one is really more about the baby than the cheating itself. Since someone else sent Pt I, I have to look at these nuances.
4. holyground - Human - The Human League
Quote:
Dylan - 9.5 - I like that they both cheated. It's a little different but it still fits into the remorseful feeling that comes with cheating, only from both sides. Nice job google I mean holyground.

It's a little light on the remorse, the narrator is just making a lot of excuses, but at least there is the mention of "guilt and shame". It's a good choice, just not perfect.
Quote:

Anna - 9 - I like this choice, it’s different. Fits well, too.
5. Yvess - Marques Houston - Cheat
Quote:
Dylan - 7.5 - It's about cheating for sure, yeah. But he's basically half way apologizing as he keeps repeating he'll probably do it again followed by a verse stating he'll change. A bit contradicting. Decent choice.

Ethan - 8
The adultery and the remorse are there, but what is this line "Can't say I won't do it again"? He obviously isn't THAT sorry about it if he's saying he will probably make the same mistake again! Shame on you Marques. Overall nice choice, but that line loses some of it for me.
Quote:
Anna - 7 - Obvious song title is obvious. But he is kinda contradicting himself saying he’s sorry but then he also can’t promise he won’t do it again. Like make up your mind dude.
6. Amaloner - Chris Brown - So Cold
Quote:
Dylan - 7 - He's sorry for something. I didn't expect him to flat out state he cheated but I also needed at least a hit as to what he did. Cheating is one of the option but is it the option? I don't know. Okay choice.

Where is the adultery? He messed up about something but I can't see anything that specifically points to cheating on her. There is remorse and it certainly could be about cheating, but it's too vague on the "why" for it to be a really strong choice.
Quote:
Anna - 6 - He caused them to break up but he doesn’t mention what his mistake was. Cheating is only one of the options
7. Gabegabe - Cassadee Pope - Easier To Lie
Quote:
Dylan - 10 - Love this song. Also one of the immediate songs that came to my head when I saw typing up this round. Cassadee worked for you again! Just make sure to refrain from using her in the near future.

I guess we can say she feels bad, even though she doesn't feel bad enough to tell him. It's not quite as clear as some others in the remorse or adultery areas (although I think it is definitely about adultery and she seems to feel some remorse).
Quote:
Anna - 10 - Yeah that’s what we were looking for.

Tribe Brilando

1. Truth Teller - Jason Derulo - Whatcha Say
Quote:
Dylan - 10 - I heard he cheated on Jordin so this is ironic. Although he cheated with ME which is understandable. Anyway, great choice. It's very clear what happened and that he's sorry. You understood the round!
Quote:

It's explicitly stated that it's about cheating, and it's explicitly stated that he feels terrible about it and will do anything to make it up to her. Poor Jaysun Daruuuuulloh!
Quote:
Anna - 9 - This is my favourite Jason Derulo song of all time. It also fits the theme quite well.
2. Lucky#17 - Trey Songz - Last Time
Quote:
Dylan - 6.5 - It doesn't seem like he's truly sorry. It's more like when you run away to Temecula and your parents catch you and you're like "but I'm sorry:", but you're totally not. Anyway, I know you had to choose last minute so it's not a horrible outcome with that considered.

Maybe you took a risk because you were desperate and couldn't find anything else, maybe you did because you really wanted to be different. I don't think it was a great choice. He's cheating, but it seems like he's cutting things off with the side chick more to save himself from embarrassment than because he feels bad. The fact that he's talking to the side chick just makes it a hard choice for me to accept.
Quote:
Anna - 7 - I don’t really believe him when he says it’s the last time.
3. Bey_RihStan - John Legend - She Don't Have To Know
Quote:
Dylan - 6 - He did cheat. It's very clear. But it's almost the opposite of remorseful to me. He wants to continue the affair until he's caught and that's not true remorse. There were better choices.

Just like Lucky's, the adultery is there but the remorse is totally not. He knows he should break it off but he doesn't want to. I think the round was looking for something more specific than this.
Quote:
Anna - 6 - He says he’s sorry but it’s not really believable since he stills wants to continue the affair.
4. Remmy - Kid Rock & Sheryl Crow - Picture
Quote:
Dylan - 9.5 - I love this song but I never even paid attention to its meaning until this round. I think it's cool that it's a double apology and it doesn't hurt that the song is great either. Nice find Remmy.

Double trouble! It took me a minute to get it but it fits really well, they both feel bad for cheating but, hey, that's what being a rockstar is all about!
Quote:
Anna - 8 - Pretty cool choice. I’m just thinking the cheating - although heavily implied - is not completely clear.
5. DOMINO - Christina Aguilera - Mercy On Me
Quote:
Dylan - 8.5 - I am a bit skeptical because none of the Xtina stans sent this in. But i do see this as a girl that's cheated in all the relationships she's been in and is apologizing for it all at once so it's sufficient. Good.

The remorse factor is overwhelming, but the only part that we can connect with adultery is "don't let me fool around no more" which could also be interpreted as just screwing up rather than fooling around with another guy. It's pretty much there but it's not specific enough.
Quote:
Anna - 7 - She’s sorry and she hurt a man but it could have been something other than cheating.
6. EuphorianSea - Evanescence - Missing
Quote:
Dylan - 4 - Honestly, it seems like she feels the need for her boyfriend to tell her he loves her. She feels unimportant to him though she loves him like crazy. That's what I got out of this song at least. The only sign of remorse is for leaving, not cheating. I'm really not sure why you chose this track. It's the only one I felt was way out there this round. Sorry.
Quote:
Ethan - 5
Either this just went way over my head or it's really missing the point of this round. I see a bit of remorse, although it's not the focus of the song, but I can't find anything that hints at adultery. This seems like it was a rushed or just plain weird choice.
Quote:
Anna - 3 - I can’t see anything about cheating here, just unrequited love/suicidal thoughts.
7. Superiore - Usher - Confessions Pt. I
Quote:
Dylan - 10 - Pretty easy choice but it fits better than part two in my opinion. It's more focused on the actual cheating rather than the results of cheating. Nice choice.

This is a perfect example, Part II kind of makes the point a little better, but this one perfectly explains it as well.
