You do realize that making music requires talent (for the most part) and modelling doesn't, right?
Keyword here is making music. But considering majority of the pop girls don't do that and their music is made by other people.... Most of them are basically just models/faces for the music other people are making anyway.
I'm being dead serious. Is there a valid difference besides one making music and one not? Just like you get excited for your fave's projects and what they're doing next, I do the same. My fave just happens to not be a musician.
But some of you tend to take stanning more serious than it needs to be so I can understand why you don't understand.

Nobody stans for Female pop stars cuz they want to grow up to be as pretty as them. They stan for female pop stars cuz they love their music, which is what all their staning is based on. The rest is just a bonus.
