People still acting like Britney's record is that much better, it's less than 100k copies difference and Taylor achieved so in 2014 when album sales are so much worse than 15 years ago. Britney only has this record by technicality.

Its uncomparable. Who knows how much Taylor would slay in 2002 with her country pop and wasnt overshadowed by others.
That tweet was thirsty as hell. Others would be quite and party after the official numbers. The same goes to Atrlers who were literally celebrating in HDD predictions thread. How sure they were about the snatching record. I wonder how they feel now.
Judging by Taylor's upward trajectory, she should beat the record with her 6th studio album, anyway. Not all is lost here.

Not the point. The ratio of Brit's first week sales record compared to the average first week sales of albums in 2000 is a lot closer than the ratio of Taylor's first week sales compared to the average first week sales of albums in 2014, by a landslide. Taylor didn't release her album in 2000, so there's no point in debating how much more it would have sold back then. But getting 1.2M in 2014 is a LOT more impressive than getting 1.3M in 2000. That's a fact.

Oh, how sure are you that record labels would just keep quiet and not do anything to try and break whatever possible records they had a chance at? They weren't even saying they were gonna break the record?
Yes, I'm not taking that away from her. She just was in the right place at the right time, though.

Omg you are the one who bragged about it. I will say its pretty impressive but dont try to put down Britney´s sales when no female out of her peers could come close even in better sales climate.

Honey, every label is thirsty for sales and for breaking records. Thats fact, its music industry. I dont know why you are fighting they were not thirsty when they literally deleted all her music from any streaming service to provide bigger sales.

Then wouldn't that contradict what you've been saying? You said that others would keep mum about it, whereas her label president tweeted it once, so you accused them of being thirsty and then you go ahead mocking them over their thirst.
Record labels obviously want those sales, and you're pointing out that tweet like as if they committed a sin.
