Why Taylor Swift is the most important artist of the millennial era
[...]
But regardless of your opinion about her music, Swift is quickly becoming the most influential artist of her generation, in terms of her impact on the industry.
And the voice of a generation has nothing to do with the amount of albums you sell first week either, it has more to do with inspiring and influencing a generation through your music and Taylor hasn't done that
I'd say it's more expressing how that generation feels and no one does that better than Taylor hence why so many people connect with her music. Taylor's obviously inspired/influenced a lot of singers/songwriters too
This source ain't ****, just like Taylor.
Album success in the US is all there is to her,
Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Katy, Adele all outsell her total album sales in the UK individually with just one album, she remains a local hoe with minimal impact outside the borders of the 50 states of the U.S
Being the voice of the Generation is highly overrated. Xtuna was supposed to be the voice of the generation and she influenced nobody except the contestants on The Voice that were contractually obligated to praise her while they suffered through her ego, "mentoring", performances, stench etc
I'd say it's more expressing how that generation feels and no one does that better than Taylor hence why so many people connect with her music. Taylor's obviously inspired/influenced a lot of singers/songwriters too
An example or two would be a good start

169,281 Speak Now
127,154 Taylor Swift
90,336 1989
= 1,396,576
Local bitch
You are the epitome of local once Lonce is doing better than you in important foreign markets
In that article, the reasons they gave for Taylor being the most impactful millennial pop star are
-she supports corporate sponsorship
-she performs live
-she has crossover hits
-she can sell albums
All of which literally everyone can do, except maybe the last one but w/e. Taylor is simply not the pop star of our generation because she simply lacks the cultural impact, hits, global influence and a universal fan base. Rihanna is the true pop star of our generation because she has all the above and then some, it's undeniable.
Think of all the new English singers like Emelie, Ella Eyre, Henderson, Jess Glynn all big voices and they all sing wthout any hint of auto-tune or melodyn.
So Taylor is at her best globally now and still isn't ****
Hasn't she sold what? 7 million albums outside the US? Or how her entire tour's gross was carried by numbers from one single country
1989, in reality is 1984, makes sense Taylor has 5 albums so 1989-5 equals 1984, a representation of the amount of brainwash the peoples of the globe are now facing, being consumers being unconsciously forced to buy **** in the name of music while the critics act like sheep and condone it! What has the world come to?! Prophet George Orwell warned us
I actually thought of that book when she first released the title of her album. I thought her album was gonna be more about the conditioning of society and talk about those sort of stuff but

I was wrong lol. Still a cute concept though
Not everyone can be social justice warrior Miss Jackson if ya nasty

Quite a succinct, accurate description.

But then again why is 1989 influenced by Lorde and Lana`?
Because she's a talentless writer that hasn't evolved from when she was in highschool and now mooches off young, actual talented legends like mature icon Lorde and broody depressed Lana.

What's to hate about that flaw-free film trilogy? Stunning and the scale is monstrous.
