Ohhhhh God, slay me Gaga with those timeless classic Gaga!! Her vocals is very beautiful, either pop, jazz or rock!!! I want some kind of slayage like this in her next album!
It's just her showing off how adaptable her voice is into a new genre. She somewhat did the same by going OTT with the early jazz performances...but dialled it back/showed variety for C2C. She'll likely do the same here.
The screamyness works for me - it's fun, raw and appropriate for the song - but she does need to be careful that she doesn't get too caricature rockstar, like she does slightly do with caricature jazz in C2C.
I'm looking forward to where she goes with this genre. Could be very pop/rock, could not.
