Bonus Tracks - Acoustic Bangerz Tour
I mean.... And those uninspired song titles, .
I'm here for "Scorpions" (feat. The Flaming Lips), though . It sounds like the ****ty older sister of "Robot". Give me that pop-rock stadium anthem, Legend M .
I want her to write more on the next album. Bangerz is cute and all but will it ever have the closeness, raw honesty and organic feel of Breakout? I am shook.

But yes, I agree. I would love a song written 100% by herself. And I also want her to play guitar / piano on her next tour. Some people aren't even aware she's a musician. A Britney-trying to-prove-her-piano-playing-skills-on-"Everytime" tea.

Isn't it funny how Meet Miley Cyrus - out of all her eras - was the one where her label marketed her as a ~ true artist ~ the most. Teaching Billy Ray to play "I Miss You" on guitar . Having 8/10 main-writer credits on her album . 14 year old Miley, her artistry .
Let's not with those tacked on credits on Bangerz! I'd be here for guitar and piano playing too but that's like saying I'd be here for actual choreography, it's a nice thought but it'll never happen!
I don't know why she never does choreography. It doesn't matter if she sounds good or not, people want an entire show to look at. Beyonce and all her hair-flips, hand snaps, fire effects and kicks entertains people and makes you want to see it live, even if it is painfully average/dull.
It's one of (but not the biggest) factors why people didn't go to the tour. Aside from her tainted image which contributed a good 70% chunk, the lack of dancing and just doing 'whatever comes to mind!' every time she walks on stage contributes too.

I like the idea of it being a different show every time, but it is annoying seeing her singing just wandering around lost and slouched over half the time. She's one of the better voices in pop but IMO it's still not quite great enough to carry a whole tour!
The opening show of the Bangerz tour was great tbh because I feel like there was a legitimate structure and conciseness to the show because she was fresh off of weeks of rehearsal. As the tour went on she got too comfortable and complacent. (This seems to be a recurring theme in her career.)

Google Trends doesn't lie minxie - there's a reason why Miley Ray Cyrus Finley is regarded as a singer-songwriter instead of a "recording artist" like some others...(Omg, @ all of this songwriting talk, I felt in the Beyoncé base for a minute).

!!!. It's not like she can't dance. Even a "Ice Cream Freeze" level of choreo once in a while would be great.
Anyway, it's not like you need to be a fabulous performer to sell concert tickets. Look at One Direction - they literally walk from one side of the stage to the other and they sell-out every date. The problem it's that the VMA's kinda destroyed anything that was left of her reputation as a believable performer. Nobody wanted to pay to see "twerk" and touch her kitty. Overall, the tour produced decent numbers because some people realized that she was actually really talented and the ticket price was worth it thanks to her "Wrecking Ball" performances (the same reason Bangerz hit platinum).
The Bangerz tour appealed predominantly to the white teen and young adult demographic (predominantly females and gays) that were trendy and cool enough to go to her tour to "turn up!" and "get ratchet!" It was literally advertised as a big party so it sold as such, not quite as a tour promoting an album. IMO anyway! She has more than enough talent to establish herself as a good performer. If she pursues taking herself seriously, the addition of her growing catalog of hits should keep her future as an artist with touring power bright. (I hope)

"Gypsy Heart Tour" was still heavily supported by her Hannah Montana crowd and their parents (believe it or not) so this was expected. I don't think people necessarily hate Miley as much as they claim, though, so you're right: she'll be fine as long as she keeps crafting legitimate hits and evolving artistically. She's genuinely talented, so why not ? I can see her becoming a touring force down the road.

It's tragic how much Hannah nostalgia managed to carry the GHT. Mainly the videos of Australia, where you see young girls and their mothers and grandmothers stand confused and scared at the unidentified brunette on stage wearing leather bondage boots, yelling songs they've never heard of.
The Bangerz tour is just a continued example of Miley essentially having been a new artist all over again with a completely different brand and different product. Very few of her original fanbase remained and she had to launch a global arena tour off of a bunch of people who were just being introduced to her. So we can conclude that it was actually one of the most successful debut tours ever! Queen! Poor The Fame Ball. Poor Hello Katy Tour.
In the same vein that Can't Be Tamed had to happen for Bangerz to be possible (falling completely off in sales, fame, relevancy, etc. only for a resurgence with a new brand. "OMG what happened to Miley?! I haven't heard from her in forever. She's crazy now!"), I think Bangerz had to happen for touring power to actually increase down the line. Those Hannah Montana ticket sales weren't gonna keep coming in forever, and despite the huge decrease from those fans no longer being around, it did introduce her to a new demographic. Now that her name is solidified with the public and she has attention again (although it's fleeting FAST), she can aim towards proving to people that she has a purpose outside of flash-in-the-pan controversies
But for this to work out, everything from the image, to the songs, visuals, fashion, attitude, associations, commercials and more need to be 100% perfect. And that's not likely considering who we're talking about and the type of music she wants to make right now.
So basically everything I typed up was a fantasy. Hooray!
IDK. I can't remember what day exactly during 2011-2012 the new era actually started becoming exciting/promising. Nothing she's done quite yet has made me look forward to the future. This is basically the Pilates candids every day era except instead of Pilates it's Wayne Coyne and instead of candids it's hideous embarrassing Instagram posts.
Maybe signing with RCA was a blessing in disguise because they've been known to crack the whip when pop girls want to release ~real~ music. They shoved Kelly/Avril/friends into the studio with Dr. Luke and Max Martin with quickness.
The struggle to get two songs charting in the top 10 at the same time. I was so pissed seeing as it happened twice within weeks of each other. By one spot.
I know complaining about the Bangerz era is old, but just god @ Do My Thang and FU. the fact that FU went top 40 on iTunes off of being played at some fashion show. Do My Thang being slept on with Dark Horse, Talk Dirty and Black Widow becoming huge hits (the build-up to a beat breakdown trend she hopped on before it really took off).
