4 did not give a good sale projection for her 5th album. It felt like it will go down for there. The haters were getting a little excited to finally see her end. . . . THEN IT HAPPENED

Twitter exploded, everyone was talking about it at work, fan reactions on Youtube, just a frenzy everywhere. Then her numbers came out breaking a iTunes record all without a single.

Taylor Swift is more predictable. She had great numbers in her last album. She did the traditional release single before go to #1, a televised performance, etc. Not surprised by her numbers at all. Not saying it is not impressive, but just not as impressive as Beyonce. Plus she is safe with Pop. Beyonce is R&B/Pop & Explicit (so it didn't appeal to her younger audience)

Put it this way Norah Jones use to sell 1 million copies a week back in the day as well, but it didn't have any lasting effect did it? She's currently irrelevant and no one cares how much she sold 10 years ago. It's not important. The BEYONCE will release will be remembered because it was a standout moment.

Norah only had one album that opened with a million copies and that was back in the early of the 2000's.

An album that is going to sell over a million copies in 2014 and is already probably the best selling album of the year in a week is way more impressive. Not to mention that this going to be the third time she is going to open with an million copies.

BEYONCÉ of course. However, it is more impressive because the music was actually of high quality, not because of its release. It is incredibly rare to see an album of that quality being released by a mainstream pop artist, and that is infinitely more impressive than getting a bunch of sales from an easily accessible demographic.

Honestly both are massive and huge accomplishments. It's not really easy to compare such huge accomplishments. Both women got the biggest sales week of their careers well after debut and that's super impressive; especially in this market.
