There are not Melodies aren't similar, Style is driven by the edgy guitar riff and bass line while IS is driven by drums and the airy, diluted pop guitar strumming, and the vocals are very different

And you listed 3 of my least favorite songs

Half of 1989 is trash tbh, but the other half makes up for the trash. WTNY is horrid for example, but "How You Get The Girl" is life, so I guess its cool

at least those lyrics pack some kind of punch and have a range of over 1 note
