Many artists can get away with putting out music in a similar manner to her, because they fill in the gaps. They talk about their music, they perform it, they get interviews and explain the inspiration behind the lyrics. They post pictures related to it and make music videos, etc etc. What makes it frustrating as a fan of Azealia is that she hasn't filled in the gaps since Yung Rapunxel. This is where you're coming from, correct? Chasing Time is an amazing pop song but Azealia has said almost nothing about it, and we have no imagery for it whatsoever so it's hard to enjoy when it doesn't feel like a total package. It's frustrating because there are things she can do herself to help but she doesn't know or understand that we feel this way. From her perspective, any unhappy fan is basically saying "give us the album!" which isn't the whole story.

This. I'm not some irritating stan, constantly demanding new music to enjoy than dispose of a second later. But Azealia can't expect people to stay interested as music drops sporadically without anything bar a Soundcloud link. 2012 to Early 2013, my hype for BWET was high. The way she described the songs, the lyrics, the influences... I couldn't contain my excitement. It's not the same though, when you rip off random chunks, a new song here... it's video a few months later... hyping a song in an interview only to have to wait weeks to even be blessed with the release date for a snippet. Due to this, what Azealia may see as an amazing body of work is then a scattered mess for listeners, to be pieced back together; the cohesive vision blurred as things come and go. This only results in lost interest for Azealia and her work.

And she treats all her music the same way, which means there is no consistency. Like she could say "dropping a new track soon" and you wouldn't know if it was written last week, if it's some leftover from Fantasea, a new lead single or a tacky remix. Songs like BBD and No Problems are completely ambiguous and you suspect that they are just treats for fans, yet a month later she intends to put them on what she considers the best album of the decade. And then there was that time where she decided to release the lead single from her second album, Count Contessa- which is arguably worse than half the songs on Fantasea- and talks about Muscle Mike (who???). Sometimes it seems like she wants us to have that cohesive vision you speak of, such as with ATM Jam and Liquorice, but other times I just don't know.

Agree with everything you wrote except your sinful insult of the brilliance that is Count Contessa. Easily in my top 10 Zee Zee songs—quite possibly my top 5. One of the best examples, to me, of just how far her genius extends beyond her rap colleagues.

Azealia's boring the crap out of me. I'm about ready to exchange my stan card for a fan card. Like, I'm in love with Chasing Time but she's not DOING anything with it and she keeps doing this with all her new music. It's just boring now.

Same. Like I literally forgot about her today.
She's still my most listened to artist on Last but WOO I can't help but admit that her presence is fading
I hope she gets to a label fast. She needs a machine behind her.

I agree. There's no "campaign" so to speak and little to no consistency in any of her releases. I gave her the benefit of the doubt because she's flying solo now but nothing's been said. I'm more disappointed about Chasing Time because she told us it's "the one" and seemingly did nothing to try & promote it.
Now she's independent, there's no need for secrecy about release dates or anything else. If the album doesn't drop in January as promised, the stan card gets turned in. Don't let us down, Azealia.
