5 miles is a very long walk! And cracking your phone sounds awful, it has never happened to me. And then losing your debit card sounds even worse but at least you can get a new one from your bank in less than a week. And from reading this I see that you're showing emotions to this, maybe at the time you weren't showing emotions because that's a defense mechanism, you're afraid of getting too angry or sad. But you went with a friend, so sharing problems is always better because people sympathize with you!
