But we heard stuff like that so many times and it wouldn't be a smash...She has to try something new!

I agree! And yeah, I get what you're saying, but I'd love to hear her do something like it. I feel like she could really nail it. She's performed with Alicia before, but I think they only performed Adele's songs.

Yeah, I know what you mean, Addict. I bought Red, but I will definitely not buy 1989. The Taylor songs I actually like are the ones that are big songs and/or songs that I feel like actually mean something or tell a story. All Too Well, Dear John, White Horse, Enchanted, Back To December, Long Live, Fifteen, Last Kiss...but now the reviews are in that she's done none of that? It's endlessly frustrating to see a musician give up whatever artistic credibility they had and make trash pop because it is supposedly "who they are" (after years of her saying how country was her dream and moving to Nashville at 13 and whatever, mind you) or really just want the increased money and fame available in that genre. I know, haters gonna hate(x5), but I think she's giving good reason to get it.
And is RT really the one behind that atrocious new Welcome To New York one?

All of the songs you listed are PHENOMENAL. "Enchanted" is her best song, without a doubt. I get what you're saying. Her country music is so much better. I like her pop music, but a lot of her pop music really makes her sound stupid for someone who is capable of so much more. You look at something like "Enchanted" or "All Too Well" and you compare it to something like "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" and it's hard to believe that they were written and performed by the same person. She had a great thing going with the country-pop thing, and she totally screwed that up. I mean... Some of the songs on
1989 are FANTASTIC. But it's such a huge letdown considering how good some of her previous stuff was.
Was Ryan Tedder really behind "Welcome to New York"? That's one of the worst songs of her career....

I usually love his work, but that was dreadful. He redeemed himself a little, though, because "I Know Places" is one of the best songs on the album.

The first time I ever saw the Grammys it was Alicia Keys performing that song. Still one of my all-time favorites

Yeah, I love Alicia and that song is one of my all-time favorites, as well. I'm currently teaching it to myself on the piano!

Aww, she and Gaga love each other so much! It's really sweet. I love both of them, but I think they should just stick to being friends. I don't know how they could do a collab. The only pop girl that Adele could collaborate with is Bey.
BTW.... Did you guys see this:
