This so much!!
People wanna have a kii with the mess and blame Gaga for it when in fact it was not her fault, at all.

She could have done some damage control though. I'm just saying, cause she obviously thought and wanted ARTPOP to be a big chart success.
Anyway, I think this time they should take more precautions with all of this. Success is all about PR and how you are perceived by the media. If the media says you're a flop, then you are a flop for the GP and like someone said here, if she wants to keep making good and big tours she needs the GP.
Also, a good catchy and GP friendly song wouldn't hurt and she wouldn't need to worry so much about this stuff, but given the fact that she doesn't wants to make GP friendly songs she needs to take all this precautions in order to have at least some success and keep doing what she does.

The C2C tour starts in June ? That would be so stupid.
I thought it'd start right after the Grammys ? (I realy hope it does).
The worst thing is waiting long time for an album and then either get dissapointed or the era just gets cut short somehow.
She is always working hard, so working hard is not a problem for Gaga. She needs to work hard on her next album and deliver it by the end of 2015 or February 2016 at the latest.

Exactly.
Everyone on this damn site acts like Applause was a flop (when it sold almost as much as The Edge Of Glory in the US yet I've never seen someone call TEOG a flop + peaked at #4) just because Roar outsold it. Roar was massive. More than Applause, true. But it doesn't mean Applause was a flop
And the fact everyone was dragging ARTPOP & its sales when the industry is dying
Selling around 2M WW is pretty good. Look at the sales today. They're tragic Even singles barely sell anymore

MTE, but Gaga fueling the mess and being so thirsty for chart success on Twitter & LittleMonsters.com didn't help.
She needs to stop doing that, the people that are going to support, are going to do it without her RTing all this mess and saying to watch a video a million times over and over again
Anyway, I'm ready for another "pop" era even if it's a big mess like ARTPOP. I'm not here for this jazZzZzZzZ eras tbh.

You know what, I can't at all the bitching about C2C, y'all damn know we wouldn't be having any pop era right now anyway, so be glad she didn't go on a 18 month blackout like last time damnit, if she had done that she might as well have retired completely, cuz everyone would've been over her by the time she did make a comeback

Not just people, she was expecting it too
I still remember her doing an interview and someone asking her about Applause and it's lack of success and she was like "OMG everybody is doing a big deal of Applause not being #1 YET, most of my songs took a lot of time to reach it's full potential" or something like that.
She was so sure that Applause would destroy the charts.
Poor Gaga

I wasn't really shocked tbh. I mean when Applause came out I was still thinking the album would debut with around 500k...but as it got closer, people were really rooting for her to fail. It felt like people were rooting on that album to fail for some reason, and it was frustrating.

This so much.
And honestly, I don't know if I believe that she leaked it. It's not far fetched at all for a song to leak early, and they made a smart move starting things early if it was out of their control. She would have had a higher debut if it didn't leak and she released it on the initially planned date, since the video would have dropped the same day.

mte. "ROAR BEAT IT11!!!!" It's not a competition. Applause did very well and had a lot of longevity.
And I think its funny how as people's first week sales have been coming in lately, the threads are full of "WHAT A FLOP" "TRAGIC" type posts.....do people just not realize that's how albums are selling nowadays?

I was thinking 400k in worst case scenario.
The rooting is just ATRL. They would've done that for any artist, and when I was on my Mariah stanning and her album dropped they did the same with making threads on how bad it would flop and how low it was gonna sell, then yet, acting surprised when it did what they kept saying it would for months.
If Katy had flopped the same way everyone except Kats would be doing the same thing that happened w/ ARTPOP because it's just ATRL and they cling to pointing out flops.
I always thought the problem with her sales that era was the fact it felt like her fanbase left her, though. During TFM / BTW her fanbase felt so huge and had a presence everywhere. Most followed on Twitter, they would trend random **** everyday, everyone knew of 'Little Monsters', etc. Now it just feels like most of them left 'cause you really never hear about her fanbase's impact these days.

Of course she had one. Because she had two massive eras before ARTPOP + she was gone for 6 months + cancelled tour due to her hip (Don't forget that many people still think she faked it because she was flopping. Even Wendy Williams made a reference about that recently ).
She just had kind of a normal era. Not a big pop star's era who rules the industry. A normal one. No real 'massive hits'. Just a hit with Applause. A semi-hit with DWUW. Decent sales WW.

Her core fanbase didn't leave her but the GP completely did, and that included casual fans. Like most people didn't even know she was releasing an album or that Applause was her song, it was one of the worst promo campaigns ever. The 250k fans who bought Applause first week are the same 250k who bought the album first week.

I wouldn't blame anybody that jumped ship after the ARTPOP era cause it was truly a mess. Aside from the chart performance of the era in general, the era itself was a mess.
