17. Maroon 5 f/ Rihanna “If I Never See Your Face Again"
Album: It Won't Be Soon Before Long (Deluxe Edition)
Genre: Pop
Producer: Mike Elizondo, Mark "Spike" Stent, Maroon 5
US Billboard Hot 100: #51
I thought this song was a filler in Maroon 5’s album,
It Won’t Be Soon Before Long, but you add hit machine Rihanna to it, and a song can go from dull to amazing, is there anything Rihanna can’t do? If you have seen this song being performed live, you can tell the chemistry is there and let’s add the fact that the song is deliciously catchy from beginning to end. Rihanna and Adam Levine sing about having a one night stand with your ex as they sing provocative lyrics such as
“If I never see your face again, I don’t mind, ‘cause we got much further that I thought we’d get tonight.” The video is just sexy as the song is, the video revolves around them flirting with each other. Maroon 5 and Rihanna have never disappointed me with their individual projects; you put them together in a song and you get one of the best singles of the year.
16. Britney Spears “Womanizer”
Album: Circus
Genre: Pop
Producer: K. Briscoe/The Outsyders
US Billboard Hot 100: #1
Britney made a fantastic album last year, but didn’t get recognition because her personal life got more attention. This year, a recovered and confident Britney Spears released this song as her first single, and the comeback started for real this time scoring her first number one in ten years. The track is insanely catchy and it has the classic Britney sound that made her an icon. Womanizer has an aura of sexiness as Britney in an accusing way talks about a cheating men as the title of the song suggests. The chorus is very repetitive but it doesn’t get old or annoying, you will have a hard time trying to get
"Boy don't try to front I (I) know just (just) what you are (are are)” out of your head. The video is simply hot, Britney looks great there naked in a steam room and I don’t want to start talking about the office orgy with the red hair. Overall,
Womanizer is pop perfection and it marked her comeback to the music industry.
