I'm not really defending Beyonce (which is why I emphasized the other two) and maybe you can dig a few pages back and see where I called Beyonce's music "******" compared to Britney's. But I think the fact is, you and a few others only highlight the sales stats that are convenient for you instead of actually keeping them within context. Let's see how Circus holds up in the next few months, until then your arguments are invalid.
Anthony, you are such a smart person, I just don't know why you play dumb so often. And Jared, please piss off. You only pipe up after other people have fought your battles for you. Maybe you should try adding something intelligent to the conversation for once.

Sure. But if Circus sells 200k WW a week, don't start calling your defensive posts true.

Bobby has a point. You can't compare the first six weeks of album that have been released at different times of the year. If they all got released around the same time, then we can argue.

^ Okay!
But I will buy my favorite album even if it was released on Cronober Timings aren't really that affective. If you're talking by a year difference, I might agree, but months, no.

Err... I really don't recall myself comparing Britney's first six weeks with the others first six weeks. But we can surely do that soon, when Britney goes through the nightmare's month of the year for sales. I can tell you I'm sure she will sell fine, and even better than fine if she moves a finger to promote. Watch.
Bobby, if I'm not wrong, you're also not dumb, so I think you understood very well why I used TEOM and COAD as examples, just like I know why you decided to point out the very relevant fact that Circus sold 2% less last week than the week before. That said, stop preteding you didn't understand where I was heading to only to benefit yourself.
Yes, usually albums sells less during the first semester than in the second. But that didn't stop Lil' Wayne from selling ONE MILLION in May/June. Did anyone do the same this month? No. That's my point, you sell what you sell.
Btw, as for my argument being invalid, well, it's MY argument, and you have every right to disagree. I see others agreeing with me and also others agreeing with you, so what's invalid or not is not crystal clear as black and white, right?

The time of year really doesnt matter, if it sold more it sold more. Whoever planned on getting the cd will get it regardless of when it comes out...
Its like with Mariah & Usher ... they released their cds early this year and it sold almost the same as Beyonce did waaaay down in the year even though she had more hype and more singles than both of them. Basically if someone wants the cd badly they'll get it. If an artist i like has a cd out I wont not buy it just cuz it doesnt come out in the fall. Ya'll need to start usin' that common sense.

No. I like Anthony's responses, and after explaining himself more thoroughly I actually think he's made some good points.
But none of you are taking account for casual fans and holiday shoppers. I mean, casual fans are the types of fans that won't go out and buy the album unless they have an excuse to go to the store. In late April, after Easter, nobody had any holiday to go out shopping for so they probably didn't bother making the trip to get Hard Candy and instead just bought "4 Minutes" and a few songs from it on iTunes.
Also, there are a lot more people shopping in stores on holidays and the new-release albums tend to be the most visible. A lot of shoppers buy them just as stocking stuffers or as gifts. You can't assume all people that buy Circus are Britney fans, many of those purchases were likely made by parents or relatives of a Britney fan or maybe someone who just thought it would make a good gift. That's what I mean by holiday bonus--there are more gift shoppers out there than there are in January-October so albums released in the last two months tend to sell 20% or more than they would if they were realesed in the first ten months. This rule is especially true in the last 4-5 years.

True but there are different factors. For example in the summer people (mostly teens) have more time to go to the store and actually buy stuff. While in December there is still school for most of the month, it really depends on what you get for christmas ($$$).

I was talking about the examples. I know people buy more albums in december. But you're giving excuses, beyonce released her album in november, and this year november was a month with high sales. Britney can be compare to beyonce when it comes to sales.

Britney is Britney and no one can ever compare to what she's accomplished
and Beyoncé is the definitive proof of evolution and it's cool that her albums are always sale-steady
but they are in different genres, directed to different markets, blah blah blah
unfortunately, both album happen to chart at the same time and Brit seems to be the one with the WW sale-steady album so far....we'll see how steady her 4th week sales go

I shouldn't have pointed out Beyonce. Her sales are unforgivable considering how terrible her album is. I would sooner buy ten copies of Circus than I would buy one copy of IA...SF. Kelly Clarkson, U2, Eminem, Black Eyed Peas, 50 Cent...they actually postponed their albums until next year because they care enough to deliver a quality product. Beyonce obviously does NOT care and she released a half baked album just to inflate sales and dupe fans. And I still think Circus is better than Hard Candy and E=MC², I was just making an observation.
