My generation hasn't given Janet her dues as a legend. I honestly think the Super Bowl incident played a big part in that.
Her absence from media for 5+ years hasn't helped, though.
Our generation of music stars sure do. She lives on thru them. She doesn't need any validation tbh. She was kinda always reclusive even in the 90s when she was relevant. I actually kinda like that she isn't overrated or overexposed. Her music got the accolades it deserved in its time and that's something the corporate media can't take away from her.
