The fact that people think Kesha is only doing this lawsuit to get out of her contracts and that none of this is true is really bothering me. If she wanted to just get out of her contract, she could have just sued for the violation of business laws and not the sexual stuff.
This lawsuit isn't something that was just thrown together. Based off of the length of the document as well as the wording and things stated inside, you can tell this has been in the works for awhile. I'm hoping that she is okay because the stress of all of this can easily cause a relapse for her.
She should release something the moment the case is over and finished with. That is assuming that she's got her album finished and its ready to be released
I'm actually kind of glad she's not working with Luke anymore.
Successful or not, she's better off as an artist without him. Luke isn't the kind of producer one goes to be "creative".
Look at all the artists that keep running back to them, and you'll see a pattern of uneventful sell-out-ish pop girls.
i.e. Katy, like she gets bops but no industry respect nor is she growing as an artist.
(It can be argued she's growing as an artist, but it's at syrup speed... Lol)
I think people are just afraid to see her without him because we've never seen her do it before.
That's why she has been afraid, too. What a horrible situation to be in.
Am I the only one who instantly thought of this when they read the line in the lawsuit where it says Luke told Kesha he likes to get girls super drunk and "**** them in the ass"
There's almost NO way she won't be freed of the contract by the end of this.
Like, at the very least, that has to come from all of this.
I'm no law student, but that's not exactly how I see it. All it takes is a bias, mysoginistic judge (or on the other hand, just a general lack of evidence on Kesha's part / Luke having a better legal team) for Kesha to lose the case. As far as I can tell, that's what Kesha's case is aiming for; to terminate her contract with Luke, based on the sexual and business accusations. If Luke wins the entire case (or if the case is thrown out), NOTHING will change, technically speaking. Kesha will remain on Kemosabe records. Luke would have to voluntarily relieve Kesha from her contract, without obligation to do so, and considering that's the whole REASON Kesha is filing this lawsuit, because he refuses to do this, I'd hazard a guess to say that he'd keep her signed and just not work with her, leaving her in musical limbo. He's a big enough ass to do so.

In his lawsuit it states she refused to comply with her contract by sending 'sound recordings' or something to him. Basically, music. I'd imagine she's been refusing and staying away from him, which made things boil up until the point where they both felt the need to file lawsuits.
Yeah, I totally agree. What my comments in relation to Jojo were aimed at were after this case, not as of yet. I think Luke did want Kesha to release music and she was the one who kept putting it off in hopes that he'd drop her, I do believe that part. I don't blame Kesha for that either. But if he wins the case, as I said above, I think she may be in trouble similar to Jojo.

Exactly, it's disgusting that there are so many people so ready to take the defense and doubt. If all Kesha wanted was to get out of her contract, she wouldn't even bring up the sexual harrassment stuff, and keep it strictly business. But she is, and it's real.
...
I'm wondering, since this lawsuit does seem rather out-of-the-blue (despite it obviously not being so), and Luke claimed to have seen drafts of it, if Kesha had actually threatened to file the lawsuit if he wouldn't drop her, or let her have more creative control after the petition took off. Perhaps she has a full album of material ready and wanted to release said material and Luke wouldn't allow it, as he has the final say? This would make sense as to why Kesha finally filed the lawsuit after such a long time of the public being aware of their issues.
But even if Kesha does have an album of material, that doesn't mean we'll be hearing it anytime soon. I do have a feeling that this is just the beginning of a very long journey. But I'm in it for the long haul.
Keeping Kesha in 'musical limbo' would kill Luke's career tbh. This story is making its way around the Internet, people are aware of what's happening so holding Kesha hostage isn't going to do any good for anybody.

Don't underestimate powerful men in the music industry. It's sick. You may be surprised with how much they get away with. Just look at Chris Brown, people said he was DONE after the Rihanna incident, and he was still able to have a successful career with many hit songs after it. People don't care when it comes to men. As long as Dr. Luke keeps producing the bops, his career will be fine, regardless of whether he wins or loses this case. But Kesha's career and credibility really hangs in the balance here.
Nah, Chris Brown is different because he has an actual stan base. Luke's image going to **** will affect him. Maybe not completely kill his career but it will affect him.
Even though Innocence & Pills and Run Devil Run aren't written by her, they speak of the situation so much

I never knew about your red horns
I never saw your evil start
You used to be what I would live for
But then you went and stabbed my heart
The promises that you promised
Are about as real as an air guitar
So watch your back 'cause I'm gonna steal your car
You better run
Cause there's gonna be some hell to pay
You better run
And that's the only thing I'm gonna say, hey I wish I'd known the right from the start
That I was dancing with the dark
You better run
