If you get an idea in your head, make sure to get it down ASAP! You don't want a good idea to slip away.
If you have an idea, but don't know where to go, that's completely fine. I'd suggest just writing
something down. It might not be great, but you can fix it later - or, at the very least, it will help you get experience for later writings.
Writing often helps a lot. It doesn't even have to be all that good, like I said before, but as you write, you start noticing what you may be doing wrong, what you'd like to improve on, etc.
I also suggest joining this season's Platinum Hit! Every season, there's always at least one person who doesn't submit for a round, so as long as you do, you can get at least one free round with helpful advice from the judges (who are writers themselves - many of which who won the game before) and that can help a lot.
One last thing, I use
RhymeZone for figuring out what words rhyme with what I want to use if I get stuck (but it doesn't have to rhyme! A real and genuine song can be felt without a rhyme scheme.), and
oneword is a good place to start if you are absolutely stumped for ideas. A good way to use it is to just write down whatever the generated word makes you think of. You may just strike upon a brilliant idea!
Hopefully this helped you some.

I prefer the first one, but like the triangle for the A in the second one.
