Well, I wasn't expecting this. I thought if you didn't like Music as much as Ray of Light you really wouldn't "get" American Life but that's cool. I don't think there are many that would rate AL above Music. I mean, I wouldn't myself, but still. Cool beans.

Finally some AL stanning in here, only 10 years too late.

It used to be my favorite album for a hot minute until I matured and Erotica/BS hit me. There's a possibility that M13 might harken to AL a bit, that will be the day I die. I feel like the album was a product of its time, like nobody really knew what to do with an Electronic sound yet so it's steeped with a lot of bleep-bloops and processed vocals. A 2014 throwback would be godly.

The way she sounds both frustrated by and resigned to her confusion and awkwardness in a healthy relationship/marriage is really poignant and honest. Appreciating dem feels, Madge.
