Sadly, I think it is obvious she kinda lost it right after that 'Dope' performance. Every single little thing she did after that felt 'off' and, looking back, she kinda looks like she was seething and trying her hardest not to act on it.

The Xtina version of DWUW is trash. It's crazy how easily the song goes from being the second coming of Poker Face/Lovegame and one of her coolest, best songs (R Kelly version) to a gay, campy, shouty mess with poorly mixed vocals. So glad she didn't push that version.

It's not all that bad I agree with you though it is poorly mixed and you can hear it clearly with headphones on.

I think the fall of 08 was when she really got me though because that's when I actually listened to The Fame in full. I remember stanning really hard for Starstruck, Just Dance, and Poker Face I didn't even really like Paparazzi until it became a single.

I don't think it's trash, but I've always preferred the R Kelly version. Despite his personal issues, his vocals are on point and complement Gaga's so well. Christina slays the end, but it can be a bit too much and overpowering, especially alongside Gaga's power vocals. DWUW feat. R. Kelly is probably one of the top 3 Gaga songs, along with Bad Romance and Marry The Night

Do you all ever wonder if Gaga had spent more time between album releases and had, for example, released an album made of the best songs from Born This Way/ARTPOP? An album consisting of the top, say, 7 songs from each of those albums would have made an incredible record in my opinion--giving it more balance in sound and taking out extra songs that don't add that much to the overall record. Don't get me wrong--Born This Way and ARTPOP are amazing albums and some of my favorites, but I do think that if Gaga had spent like 3-4 years (which was more common before the digital era) between releases her output and commercial success could really benefit from it. Timed and planned correctly, an album with singles Born This Way, Do What U Want, GUY, Marry The Night, Scheiße, and Applause (give or take a few songs) would have smashed much harder.
