The fact of the matter is, Katy has already won.
She's performing at the SUPERBOWL. She is going to be getting attention and publicity either way. PRISM is sure to sell more copies, heck Teenage Dream will probably score another couple of weeks on the chart, giving it a boost as one of the 10 longest-charting albums on the BBH100 by a female EVER. Dark Horse will most likely get another big boost. Roar and DH could be well on the way to 1M views on Vevo.
No matter what the performance is like, all of these things are going to happen anyway. Haters will still hate the performance no matter what, stans will still love the performance no matter what (but will definitely critique her appropriately if she's off) and casual fans won't care much and straight guys will be too busy using their eyes to use their ears.
