Here character is a con artist, along with Denis O'Hare's. I believe the blonde hair is Maggie's natural hair, and the curly wig was a disguise. Notice she was wearing glasses there, too.
Because she is a scam artist with Dennis... She is posing as a fortune teller

I'm going to be perfectly honest and say I was slightly underwhelmed by the premiere, but I was really impressed with how fast the story moved and I loved Elsa's performance. But the vibe I'm getting is like a mix of Coven and Murder House... I hope it actually does get darker as Murphy promised.
I'm actually really excited for Emma's character to come in. She looks like the most promising part of the season, which is weird since I didn't care for her much in Coven.
