Good point but at the same time its a wasted opportunity for her to showcase the other tracks on the album, especially since alot of peoples pre-conceptions are that the album will be full of 2 On type tracks . If she can do a mashup of Pretend and 2 On like she did on BET and then perform an album track for the 2nd performance that would be amazing.

This album is top 3 best of the year. Every single song (except for Thug Cry but I'll forgive her for THAT) is seriously great. And for once, album interludes actually enhance the experience! They really set the mood for the next of songs.
My absolute favorite tracks are Aquarius, Cold Sweat, All Hands On Deck, Wildfire, Feels Like Vegas, Bet, and How Many Times

I'm embarrassed that I doubted her. She really came through.

Singles stil suck though...but I get the label needed radio-friendly songs. But I hope she doesn't suffer in album sales because of it.

Pretend was a HORRIBLE choice. People who doesn't agree doesn't know how the industry work. You need to be consistent with your appeal. 2 On (club banger) to a mediocre song

I think Beyonce's solo debut was perfect. Mathew knew what he was doing

Even Ciara's Goodies era was perfect

The pattern is make your first two songs be the best two songs off your album. Pretend is not horrible but just not top two in my opinion. It's frustrating because this album deserve better recognition and this single is throwing it off

Pretend is an amazing song. Its not single material, but that doesnt mean the song is bad or medicroe.

They should of released either Feels Like Vegas or Wildfire as the second single. All Hands on Deck is also single material, but i wouldnt release it as a second single after 2 On, because they are too similar, you dont want to repeat yourself that fast, it would work best as the third single
