I think a first single should be a catchy song with a sing-a-long hook which both "Hook It Up" and "Amazed" have.

And some people either loved or completely HATED Soulja Boy's "Crank That" but it was still a #1 hit.

You're joking right? Hook It Up's terribly cheesy lyrics, even for a Disney song, would have been the downfall. That song would have made a horrible single.

I would have loved for Did It Ever Cross You Mind or Paper Cut to have been singles, but they wouldn't have done well either.

It's one of those songs that get stuck in your head easily. It would have made a great first single and would have had a hot video too.
