This is supposed to explain how Bella got abducted before The Sims 2 started.
You could say, the order is The Sims 3 > The Sims 1 > The Sims 4 > The Sims 2.
• When a Sim dies, they become a non-playable ghost.
• Use the “Invite to Household” interaction to make a ghost into fully playable member of your household!
• Ghosts can have relationships, get married, woohoo, hold jobs, build aspirations, earn traits, or just be!
• Ghosts have a unique post life experience based upon how they died…
• Sims that died by hunger seek to satisfy their hunger in the afterlife.
• Sims that died by overexertion and old age find they prefer to take it easy in the afterlife.
• Sims that died by fire have a new interaction available to them…my advice, try and not make them angry.
• Sims that died by an emotional death can radiate their emotion onto other Sims.
• Sims that died by electrocution, when angry, have a unique interaction to break electronic devices. They also seem to really enjoy the “Hand Buzzer” social.
• Sims that died by Cowplant have the desire to harm and help the plant world. They can cause plants to die when in a negative emotion, but will care for plants when in a positive emotion.
• Ghosts can possess objects, and they can repair broken objects when possessed
• Ghosts have new interactions available to them, such as “Ghost Scare,” “Pass Through,” and “Talk About Death.”
• Level 10 Gourmet cooks have a new recipe “Ambrosia”, which can be used to bring a Ghost to life (or give a Sim renewed life)!
• There is a new gardening flower type, the Deathflower, which can be used by a Sim to save themselves or another when visited by the Reaper!

I will say this: I am very happy they are adding things to the game for free.
They had to after everything that happened this summer.
I wonder if Maxis will ditch Expansion Packs, tbh. I have a feeling that one day The Sims will be subscription based where everything is delivered through content patches (you pay for w/ membership). Especially since the PC gaming market is more digital. It just seems more sensible and less messy, imo.
I like the idea of being able to have it all for a small subscription fee (probably yearly, tbh?), tbh.

You say that as if they don't have Expansion Packs at the ready for us to buy. There's load of content left out. What we're getting is very minimal, ghosts, pools and a few extra careers isn't anything to throw a party about.
Not that I'm unhappy about them doing this, because it's nice, but let's not act like they're not going to try and leave the most for their upcoming expansion packs. There are more features they could've added to the base game. They're just doing this to convince the haters to jump ship to the game by giving them the few features they complained about most.

I doubt it, tbh. Those are like the most anticipated features each era so I'm still expecting them to dish those out through Expansion packs or maybe paid content.
You can tell they were rushed to release this game. These are all things they wanted (apart from the eye colours) in the game originally, but didn't get time to do.
EA gave them only a year to work on changing this from an online game, so I'm glad the developers didn't rush all the features and half-ass them.

I've been playing with ghosts and they are awesome xD
True. I would've really liked to see what Maxis would do without EA's hold on them, tbh. I think EA hold Maxis back creatively at times.
I told my sister about the game and she bought it last night. She's been playing it all day. She's a Sims 2 fan and never really played TS3. So it's even more interesting to hear her thoughts from the big jump. She finds it very confusing atm. She loves the CAS, tho.
Does anybody want to be amazingly generous and lend me their Origin details so I can download the game onto my computer and play offline? I've endured the Crack version's crashes long enough and I'm too broke to buy it so it'd really be great if someone could offer some halp
Since it is October, I've decided to play these following Sims 2 families:
Curious Family
Smith family
Singles Family
Stella Terrano
Cordial Family
Greenman Family
Summerdream Family
A couple CAS sims that I want to interact with Supernatural creatures.
Goth family
Basically, the darker families, or costume related families
I've been a fan of the Sims since the sims 1. I've never been so uninterested in a base game. And that is really hard for me to say, and for me to genuinely swallow the truth, because I wanted to see it succeed, and be great, revolutionary, like the previous games, but The Sims 4, just isn't that. I purchased The Sims 4 the day of release in my country, I was excited, but I was ready for the worst, I was pleasantly surprised at the Create a Sim demo, and actually must admit, I do like the look of the sims, but liking the look of the sims, to actually thinking this is a step forward is something entirely different. I played The Sims 4 about 5 times, I use to play for hours on end, on previous games, literally time would fly, extensive periods of time would go by, and I would think where did my day go? This just doesn't happen for me here, I find myself playing for maybe an hour, and I already feel like what is there to do, they should've introduced a whole new feature, to me the emotions are a cute edition, but they become very repetitive, which means the wants of your sim become so repetitive. I basically got my sims to level 10 in their careers, moved them out of their first house, I started to build a house, and maybe I should've given this more of a chance (i've never really been one to build my house anyway, so build mode could be really great) I just didn't feel interested to explore the catalog like I did with previous games. I haven't even married my sims or even made them have children, because I don't know that I can even be bothered. I'll have to see what the first expansion pack is before I truly decide whether I am done with the franchise, regardless this really saddens me, because I remember the first time I saw the look of The Sims 3 on the internet, and I ran around telling all my family members that the Sims 3 was coming out, and how amazing they looked, and how it was going to be an open world, but here their just isn't all that much to get excited about, I'm not disappointed, because with all the backlash they received, this all seemed expected, and I had prepared myself for the worst really, it's not terrible, it's just not a step up like previous editions to the game, and yes people may say this is just a base game etc, but I remember spending hours on end playing The Sims 3 base game, and never tired of it, and before I knew it their was an expansion pack, and yes the Sims 3 had multiple bugs, crashes but it just seemed so new, exciting and fresh to me, and even when it would randomly crash, and I hadn't saved, yes I would be furious, but something in me wanted to go back, and play again. Sadly this one just doesn't offer me anything new, that keeps me wanting to come back for more. I was in this thread around release time, so hyped to buy the game. Even when I got the game, I came in so excited, whilst my game was downloading, so this isn't me being some kind of a hater, or trying to discredit them, but Sorry EA I honestly believe you missed the ball on this one, and that truly makes me sad.
Is it weird that I kind of miss The Sims 2 but I know that playing it again won't be the same as when I played it for the first time?
Nah. I feel the same way and I still play TS2 on occasion. I play it and get that rush of nostagla but I play in hopes to have that same feeling I did in my childhood and it never comes back. It's arguably the best Sims game, though.

I agree. The Sims 4 is very bare. I've gone back to TS2 and TS3 and I always have longer play sessions with both of them (keep in mind I only have the base game S3 + Late Night). The Sims 4 has great improvements, but it doesn't capture me the way The Sims used to.
I can imagine maybe me growing up has something to do with it, though. I mean, I don't get excited about games as much as I used to anyway. I'll always miss how crazy I got before a game released.
