The flawless video of course and the controversy of the single cover
The song barely reached top 15 on urban. Literally peaked at #15 on urban radio and has fallen.
It'll reach top 5 but not sure about top 3/1 on rhy and now after payola is pushed to pop which is getting amazing updates

after payola

was peaking on its own merit.
Thank MINAJESTY for that flawless video
The song itself is catchy and brings in an audience that doesn't demand quality and a message just fun.
The only way I am ok with this paint by numbers lyricism in anaconda is that it got a major reaction
I hope she takes this opportunity to serve us 6-8 strong controversial messages. Basically she can't get us another PNP or Anawonda what #1 feels like on hot 100.
1. PnP...an allegorical blah blah blah (Queen Jackee harry spilled the tea) image/song tone down and vulnerable
2. ANaconda...gimmicky ratchet bop that's fun and entertaining to the eye more than the ear and brings in that easily impressionable audience that thinks shock value and old sex sell tricks is "edgy and gangsta" and will be open to TPP.
3. Has to be either a sensual baby making r&b slow jam groove or a Hardcore gritty urban street disciple that's serves monster lyricism, did it on em flow and delivery and just something that garners RESPECT for lyricism, message, quality etc.
4. See #3
5. Has to be another topic 1-4
6. Has to be another top other than 1-5
so on and so forth.
THe elements of The PinkPrint.
Because ratchet gimmicky songs play a part in hip hop too so I'm glad she covered that with Anaconda.
