the SMG chorus is sooooooooooo good
anytime Harry is the lead in the chorus i am always partial to the song
& his bridge slays my life
& its sf catchy & makes me feel good
the "alright" part is amazing

Fireproof feels much more personal & the lyrics are so beautiful
& their solos are more raw so to speak
Harry's solo is perfect
i think this song live will kill me

idk both songs are just so incredible in their own ways

Yup. But it fits in perfectly with their string of lead singles, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised.. or worried. I LOVE Best Song Ever but it wasn't really the more mature sound I wanted for their next album. Luckily it was the most out-of-place song on MM. Would've never expected loveliness like Through the Dark based on BSE.

That's probably why they put out Fireproof for free. They have their "typical" 1D lead single to play it safe, but then a teaser to show you what the rest of the album is really like.

I just hope they have a SOML-level single planned
