I respect her longevity in the industry.

I think her success is overrated. She has never had a US number 1 album and has had 3 number one singles in 60 years. She is simply a female in music, who has been around a long time. Good for her though, for managing that. It's something.

I don't really respect her as a person. It's a well known fact she was less than supportive of her daughters transition which is something not expected from an already established gay rights activist.

Cher wasn't supportive of Chaz's transition at first, but she soon came around to support it. Realizing the struggles her daughter had is WHAT MADE HER an LGBT* rights activist.
