I think this era was flawless. She did perform at certain venues and she revamped her tour for this album.

Although she wasn't everywhere this album is seen as very successful by people. That's pretty remarkable, in my opinion.
Overexposing an album will backfire on you one day.

2. The minimal promo
I hate this album because:
1. No singles. Singles bring longevity and help make the album more memorable.
2. Lack of promo. She could've sold as much as Frozen did. Acclaim is nice but sales are even nicer. She's a popstar, she should act like one.

Here's what I think is happening

-people are never here for people that spend too much time in the spotlight, see Jennifer Lawrence
but popstars are usually an exception however that's not what bey is right now

-all these articles put out by the media analyzing everything she does and calling her "the Queen" at the same time annoys certain people of the GP. They don't see why beyonce is getting all of this attention

-and that's because she's more of a celebrity right now with the lack of music on the charts
She's getting TFMish promo (almost ) with none of the hits/music relevance to back it up

-people are starting to lump her in with Kim K for being known for nothing
That's obviously a sign she needs to step it up with her promo

-the whole OTR was good but it put too much focus on their relationship (plus the elevator scandal)
And people are kind of over both of them now. Hence why she could pull in 1.8 million HBO viewers back then, she was known for her music first even though it didn't do well

-Next era will probably be quieter but the main point I'm trying to make is that people like beyonce the musician more than tabloid/magazine/touring bey. You can't be referred to as the queen when the GP has a very limited memory, IASF can't last forever

Do not regard blogs and forums as news sources. Bey has literally done nothing this year. IF she promotes her music people wouldn't focus so much on every detail as her private life as they do.

I want promo and I don't care who is sick of someone who has done 4 promo appearances this year. FOUR. Deal.

I think she is still known for her music.
The not so great (but still good) ratings for the HBO Special are due to the no promo. She could've at least stopped by 1 or 2 shows to talk about it (Life Is But A Dream had an interview with Oprah and a red carpet premiere that was covered by other media outlets)
Usually people with HBO specials, will do a little promo to talk about it. You can't always rely on Facebook and Twitter to get the word out. One of the reasons why SELF TITLED did so well when it came out was because every media outlet from E News to CNN all talked about it. TV promo >>>>>>>> social media

I don't understand how Beyoncé is overexposed. She's been touring for the last two years and made only 3 TV appearances this year. If anything, she's underexposed. She should be doing talk shows, releasing and performing singles, etc. The divorce rumors are the only thing that need to take a break.

Beyoncé just needs to finish this decade doing Quality music regardless of the commercial success. she's the best at what she does. that's why media calls her the Queen. don't get it twisted. I'm ready for her to have a Prince/Sade type of career with a very stable fanbase and Quality/non commercial music. and she'll still be respected in the industry and by the GP.

I want her to release quality music and promote, that doesn't mean every talk show and radio interview but a healthy balance. She doesn't need to mimic the career paths of artists years ahead of her, it's just unnecessary

I agree with everything anvarie said except the celebrity part..she obviously known for her music & being a great performer.I don't see how else should would've been on 2 successful tours if she wasn't known for the 2 things I listed..
