Despite Bey's PR team pushing this "biggest popstar" narrative, she just doesn't pull in the ratings like some other artists do. Makes you wonder if that very narrative is nothing but PR fodder her team tries to push.
So now ratings do matter when they put Beyonce in a positive light?
Gaga had two specials, so where is the "BUT DOES YOUR FAVE HAVE TWO THANKSGIVING SPECIALS" argument?
Gaga's came on during a holiday, so where is the "PEOPLE WERE BUSY" argument?
The hive flipping and flopping all over the place.

HBO has around 30M subscribers in US, so 888k is a pretty low number for the biggest couple on earth.
Then again, it's just a TV rating, it's not a big deal Hive, acceptance is the key to be truly free, guys.

Acceptance would be great

It's weird how Bey can pull 1.8M on her own but almost 1M less with Jay. Maybe it was the nature of the show and it being almost 3 hours long. Either way I expected more, but I'm still over the moon with the concert, it really is incredible

You are a classy beyonce stan. Handling it with grace

Now the VMA's may was a let down, but this. No.

Another excuse...for someone who didn't see it live you sure are making up for it by dedicating alot of time in defense mode. Just accept it and move on.

Now Hive come on these numbers aren't good, no point in trying to defend them. For example in my thread earlier when the ratings were believed to be 1.74M, I argued because that is a great number. These are not don't get too defensive and warned

Classy Beyonce stan. I commend you.

Yeah, but hey they got some others reported so its tit for tat

Considering this was both Beyonce AND Jay-Z, it's disappointing. They are overexposed at this point and their music did not really break through to the mainstream with their last albums ("Holy Grail" was only a hit because of JT and is already forgotten, and "Drunk in Love" was a very poor digital seller and didn't do that much on pop radio).

True. All good points. I'm still surprised because i thought things would turn out differently
