Okay, i think i wont even try showing people here how wrong they are because the president himself could dance to the song and you´ll still call it a non-event, so whatever
yes. the gp is over praising generic music. i need taylor to release Bad Blood next and have it be on some IKYWT **** all while dragging katy. then i will stan for her and everything she does.
#1 on iTunes around the world for over a month, #2 on Spotify worldwide after less than a week (#1 in the US by a huge margin), huge video streaming numbers, getting covered by countless artists. No one cares if your one friend isn't texting you about it, Shake It Off is huge.
ATRL stays living in an alternate reality and stays wrong about everything related to the real world.
And ATRL just keeps trying. The song has sales, airplay, streaming, had viral videos attached to it, relevant artists covering it, longevity, parodies, etc. Definitely not a non-event
It was #1 on US iTunes for a month and it broke radio records when it was released.
Also my professor mentioned it in English today so there is some #impact. The only reason Anaconda and All About That Bass seem to have more impact is because there is controversy surrounding both of them. Shake It Off hasn't caused nearly as much controversy, but that doesn't mean it's a "non-event."
• Caused controversy
• #1 on iTunes WW for a momth
• Multiple artists covering the songs
• Covered on talent shows
• Broke radio records
• Certified video
• MASSIVE streams
• Loved by the GP
• Parodies
• Viral videos using the song
• Highest first week sales of 2014
+ I've seen multiple people sing the song at my university
I am talking about the fact that the song failed to make any impact, despite hitting 1. Do y'all agree?
Does it seem overshadowed by hits like All About That Bass and especially Anaconda? Discuss

What a non-event.
Exactly. But let them stay posting whatever crosses their mind, it still wont change the fact that the song is huge!
Regardless of their (local as hell) success, everything from Taylor Swift so far feels like a non-even and a huge "lol no one cares" ... for some reason

WOW you mean the factors of a hit song? This does not make it an event.
