My iphone 5 has become a bit slow and laggy after the update.

The interface stutters a lot..like it's jittering when closing/switching apps.

It's an ok update. Only here for the voice texts. It wasn't worth the 6 hr hassle and deleting damn near everything off my phone mess. But what's done is done.

Just installed it without knowing the new features beforehand and I dunno what I expected but I'm kinda underwhelmed. Nothing new that I'll make any use for. Not that it particularly matters, though. I don't use my iPhone very often outside of sending texts.

Nothing got deleted when I downloaded it, if that makes anyone feel better. Y'all need to learn to leave for phone's still when it's working, maybe that's why so many people have been having issues

However, it dramatically slowed down/bugged up my phone. It's awful and I highly suggest not downloading it unless you have a 5S. I have the regular 5. Thankfully I'm getting the 6 Plus soon.

After multiple attempts it finally downloaded last night. I just had to delete Spotify and then had plenty of room. I love the new keyboards but Im not really noticing any other important differences

iOS updates slowing down older iPhones isn't really anything new or surprising. They do this all the time. It's like they don't even try optimizing it for their older devices.

It asked for 4.6 GB of space to dl. I basically had to reset my phone to dl the software..I'm kind of happy I did because outside of losing apps/pics I still got all of my contacts and stuff..

It took about 2 hrs to do everything and I had to reinstall all of my apps..I like it, but I don't see the big hoopla about the software..

Tbh we don't have a choice. All the apps are being updated for iOS8. If you don't upgrade, they'll look like crap or you won't be able to download some of the new apps. Some of the best sellers apps already are only compatible with the new operating system.
I refused to upgrade one time when they released a new OS, I think it was ios4, few months later, I ended up upgrading anyway.
