The grudge is pretty amazing (all of them)

1 is comedy. The 'other world' scene with the "Tip toe through the tulips" playing and the guy sharpening his claws is more funny than scary.

2 was straight up creepy. The mother forcing her child to cross dress

None of these horror movies are scary lol, some of them are good, but the point remains that there's not a single horror movie that's not filled with cliche moments that make it unbearable.

Maybe it's just me, since I've watched horror movies since I was a kid but there's a horror movie yet to be made that's going to break the mold and actually be scary.
