That was during the ARTPOP era, which was all about "doing what she has always done". "Cheek To Cheek" signifies a new evolution in Gaga and her career. After the era is over, something new needs to happen.

It's so odd to me that Gaga hasn't made lyric videos (and the Applause one doesn't count) considering how creative and innovative she can be. I wonder why she never did one for Do What U Want. Surely she cares enough about her career to at least throw it a bone, even if it wasn't a good part in her life? Oh well, what's done is done, time to move on until it leaks in full.
I wonder where she will go after this. I hope she does an album of mid-tempos and ballads, she really excels there. Her ballads are so moving. It's sad that the pop stans on this website don't really appreciate them since they aren't pure pop. Music snobbery comes in all forms, not just the classical and indie stans.

Yes.
Considering she was at the forefront of the digital/streaming takeover, it's disappointing how they've neglected to really explore her potential there since.
Primarily, they need to prepare music videos in advance and release them at opportune moments. Ideally the moment the lead songs debut or post-album singles are announced. Failing that, yes, they need lyric videos at the VERY least. And I definitely agree that behind-the-scenes videos would be good. She's EXACTLY the kind of artist people would be interested in seeing that with.
Secondly, I think she should reignite Gaga/MonsterVision. Any brand will tell you that these days it's all about creating content - shareable, reliable content to engage consumers and keep your profile nurtured.
Thirdly, ideally she'll get her team to think of a new, innovative way of making her digital presence stronger. The Fame brought vlogs, Born This Way brought LM.com, and AP would have brought the APP.
Beyond online, it'd be great for her to expand her brand empire more. She needs her Pepsi endorsement.

DWUW restored my faith in Gaga that she still can write amazing songs.

This is amazing. This would be so complicated, but if she did a performance like this. >

I'm a big fan of KPOP and I think she could learn a few things or two. I've seen several Gaga/KPOP fans say that she should follow what they do: create a regular music video, edit the choreography scenes together to make a music video that is nothing but the choreography, record herself and her dancers rehearsing the choreo for another video, a lyric video (KPOP doesn't do this but Americans do), and put together a behind the scenes video. That right there is five videos all for one song and its potential streaming points. None of this would even be that hard to put together, either, so no one can say "no, she can't do that because of time and money".
I also totally agree with Monsterivision. That's another thing that takes no time or money to put together.

Creating MASS HYSTERIA everywhere on ATRL, as always. At times I wonder what they would even have to talk about on here if it wasn't for her. This site would be much more boring.

Great points. IA, I'd love to see her start doing a behind-the-scenes for every MV. That type of stuff is always cool to watch, even if you don't care about the artist or song - like how everyone used to watch MTV's Making the Video no matter who it was. You KNOW the girls here and on ONTD would watch it.

But "Do What U Want" wouldn't have been indicative of the album's sound/themes, plus it's video wouldn't have as much artistic potential as the other lead single choices ("Applause", "Aura", and "ARTPOP").
