I was watching Americas Next Top Model the other day and this girl got a makeover with blonde hair and bleached eyebrows and Tyra Banks said that she looked like Lady Gaga in the Versace ad

While we're on the topic of that interview - does she actually ever say that she was depressed because her album underperformed? I'm reading through it now and all I'm picking up on is that the reason for her being depressed is because Troy took advantage of her, but I keep reading posts that follow the lines of "she's so pretentious/insecure/dramatic getting depressed because her album flopped".
Just wanted to clarify here so I don't make a stupid post and make a fool of myself

They only absorbed what they wanted from the article. She quite clearly alludes to the issues with Troy being what made her depressed before going on to say that regardless of how commercially successful ARTPOP was, she knows it's good.

You know, people wrote a lot of things about my last album, Artpop, which was very controversial. If it didn’t grab the whole world the way The Fame Monster did, that’s okay, because I know it’s good.

I think it's more how ARTPOP became far more messy than anticipated in terms of the release, singles and promotion. Her management collapsed and her team seemed like it was falling apart all as she was dropping her first album for 2.5 years and in the midst of constant lashings from the media about anything she did.

It is definitely all about the Troy not supporting her "vision". Troy obviously didn't supported her in beginning of the ARTPOP's period. She want to go for "Aura" as a lead single to separate herself from the mainstream-commercial success (hence ARTPOP). But Troy was against it and made her to go with "Applause" (as you can see why it is added to album so late), hence he was not supporting her vision and used her to sell-out for money. Gaga didn't knew about it and she didn't mind performing Applause for a while.
Then, for second single, she praised Venus to heaven (considering she produced it herself, so it is understandable), but no,Troy was not here for her to release that and *seems like* forced her to release "DWUW". He made a deal behind her back with Beats Commercial without telling her (that's what i heard. I need someone to clarify this). That was the moment where we saw how the era became so messy. At the same time, we don't see Troy anymore.. It seems like she parted with him... She started feeling so depressed at that time and went blackout once again until it was March(?) where the G.U.Y. era seems perfect. The way she promote it, the video, the radio adds, etc.. That never happened in DWUW era.
And i believed that it is all happening thanks to Bobby Campbell.. Look how the C2C era is turning out. It is so smooth and doesn't felt like rushed and the promo, so far, is well done.. Props to Bobby for doing his best
I really do wish you guys give her a break. She is been going through a lot.

I really wish the monster on twitter as well as here would shut the hell up. Let her do what she want. You don't own her life.
Saying "Can you forget.." part is way rude and disrespectful to the singer who have been singing such kind of music genre when they were younger.
Guaranteed that I am not here for Jazz music, but it is good idea to open up and listen to some music aside of all same old genre we have been listening for a while on radio... I am applauding Gaga (did you know she is into applause) for tryin' to explore her music genre.. Such a brave move...

Troy was doing his job for her best. Had she gone with Aura and Venus, ARTPOP's first week would have been 150-160k, a pure tragic

Nah, I have a feeling that the critics would praised her for stepping away from mainstream or commercial. Plus Venus would *kinda* help the title ARTPOP to go in right way..

Are you talking about "promotion" vice or "picking up her after being depressed" vice?

We cant know this. Looking at the Top 40 now which is mostly trash , things would be different and could be a success or like you are suggesting, a flop.

I don't know but I am very sure that Venus could be successful.. Those hooks, The euphoric chorus, the weirdness. This is like, a classic of Gaga.. Each time you hear, you will start to appreciate it more and more..
With right promo and video, she could have a hit.. But of course, the plan failed!

Venus was a flop waiting to happen. Thank god it never saw the light of the day. Its just trash. Aint nobody got time for the critics praise when your era is tanking just because of stupid singles choices.
I'm talking about promotion vice. The DWUW beats deal was an amazing idea. In UK DWUW climbed to the top 5 of iTunes just with a 30 secs commercial. Troy is an amazing manager.

How would you know? How can you say that Venus is a trash?
Gaga loved this song, Everytime she performed this, you can see lots of energy. Seeing you saying this song is a trash make me feel like...
If same thing happened to Venus, it would have climbed to top 5. There is no difference. It depends upon the promotion and timing. Sure he was really amazing manager, but he should not go behind her back on some deal.
And would it be so rude if i ask you to remove this stupid hateful avatar that you are using?

Venus is a terrible song. Sometimes I wish it was a single just you guys to see that it would have flopped even harder than MTN.There is no way it could have climbed to top 5. The song is just bad- from the production to the lyrics. And some things do not depend on promo and timing- even if you promote the hell out of a song, if its a bad one( aka Venus)- no one will buy it. While on the other hand DWUW is amazing, perfection. Without video it sold more than 2M and outsold Applause in Europe.
Also my avi is not going anywhere.

It is your opinion, so i am not gonna argue with you. Bad Romance, when it was released was called weird and would flop that's what people said, and Look how it turned out to be. It became one of her classic song.
That is sad
