I'm actually really excited to hear Bang Bang. The original is one of my favorites ever.

Bobby can easily do the normal stuff, like sponsorships and tie-ins and basic promo, because he's been doing that for most of her career. But Troy's management was innovative. He was able to do things no other manager could, and if it wasn't for him and his creativity, Gaga would've never became the global superstar she is today.
That really worries me, because that's what she needs the most for her next era. Really wish she would've hired someone with more expertise and experience and just let Bobby by the "temporary" manager until then.

Could you expand on what Troy did that was innovative? It's not that I doubt you, it's just that I thought promo/endorsement deals/sponsorships were basically what any manager does.

Fans should be excited because all of this organization bodes well for the next big pop release.

It's because most of her fans aren't here for her, just for her receipts.

The funny thing is that Bobby has been the one behind all of her "creative" campaigns. Like, that was literally his job when he worked alongside Troy. "Chief Marketing Executive". The blockbuster movie-esque onslaught promotion for BTW... King Bobby. Bobby and Troy worked in tandem. Bobby was responsible for promotion while Troy was the one who made calls to book deals. To imply Bobby isn't experienced enough is delusional because he has just as much experience as Troy, and maybe even more so considering he's been working on the ground with Gaga since day one as opposed to only meeting with Gaga when it suited his fancy like Troy.
The thing that makes Bobby special is how connected he is to the fanbase. He's young himself so he knows what we want, he knows what works.
(Yes, Troy was a great manager, but he did what he could and was no longer of any use. A new manager is exciting and brings in new ideas, especially since Bobby can now do what he wants without having to ask Troy.)

As well as C2C's launch is being handled they sort of need to ramp it up over the next couple of weeks to get more mainstream exposure...

When people say "I hope she remakes NOBTR an makes it the next lead single/NOBTR was a serious contender to be the lead single in ARTPOP" I hope they are completely joking because this is some "Bad Romance is her best video" type of delusion

It is, but Troy created Lady Gaga the brand, and that was huge, and that's what needs the most fixing going into the next era. It isn't all about promotion, but rather creating a brand and building an image and making an event. Troy was really strong on the PR side of things, and Bobby has always been great on the management side of things. Troy was largely responsible for the creation of the Haus of Gaga and her fearless, futuristic, artistic image that was so unique and different from anyone else back in 2008/2009, and what got people interested in her in the first place. The entire campaign and every part of it was his creation. He was responsible for her partnership with LiveNation, which helped her become a touring phenomenon. He helped Gaga become the first truly "digitalized" pop star of the modern age, and used Twitter, Facebook, and other forms of social media to connect her to fans across the world. He got her the huge endorsement deals with Apple, Virgin Mobile, Samsung, etc. He was the first one to connect her with Nicola Formichetti, Mugler, etc. He was able to brilliantly blend old marketing techniques with radically brand new ones to create her brand, and arguably, there hasn't been a brand quite as huge as Lady Gaga since Madonna. Troy not only made her the biggest pop star in the world a few years ago, but pushed her brand to the top in the fashion and media worlds. I could literally go on and on and on about all of the things he's done for Gaga. Do you really think Bobby can think so outside of the box like Troy could, especially at a time when Gaga needs it? He is experienced, no doubt, and he is young; that's helpful. He can book promo and get endorsements, but does he really have the creativity to create a unique, trend-setting campaign? I guess we'll find out.

On, and to add, it has never been Troy's job to come up with promotional plans, that's not what he did.
Basically what happens is that someone like Bobby will get together with their team and come up with a marketing plan. They will come up with ideas like, "put up a big Billboard in Times Square". It is then the manager's job to make that happen, as in make the calls and strike the deals with the company that owns the billboard. The manager is not the person behind the idea of using the billboard, just the person who makes it happen. With Bobby being both Gaga's manager and marketing officer, he no longer has to go through a middle man (Troy). He can make things happen whenever he wants to make them happen.

No, they don't. This isn't a pop release, so pop-esque promotion is pointless. What they're doing is they're targeted the demographic that buys jazz because that's where the money is best spent. This goes back to the discussion of "managing her budget better". You use the money you have to target the people you know will buy the product.

I dunno if that's what it's about when it comes to Cheek to Cheek. Considering Gaga's fans stan for EDM dance tracks - releasing a jazz album is pretty left-field, and while I can appreciate it, I don't necessarily like it.
I mean stanning an artist is all well and good, but it's not like that changes your tastes to where you like something you never did before.

The Underrated Trinity:
1) Electric Chapel
2) Fashion!
3) So Happy I Could Die
SHICD is on bottom because it is the least underrated but still belongs here.

But in reality, a big proportion of this record will be bought by pop fans because it's Lady Gaga. I just meant in terms of more mainstream promotion - i.e. an interview with a late night host or UK chat show.
EDIT: 5600th post. Meaningless milestone celebrations!

Bad Romance is her best video, though. What other video has such seamless references, consistent plot development, iconic fashion, memorable choreography, and a throbbing climax? There's literally no contest.

To be honest, I don't really understand what their strategy is for C2C. I mean, some of the promo has been random, to say the least
Them promoting it during the US Open was good but the H&M partnership Oh well, hopefully H&M will spin their songs during the holidays. I hope C2C has enough longevity to sell through the holidays as well.

The Bad Romance video is breathtaking. I remember watching it for the first time, I was like "WTF did I just watch?" except in the best way possible. She gave me everything I wanted from a music video except I didn't know that's what I wanted
