Mariah 'loves her' and Gaga obviously feels the same. You wouldn't think it, but I think they would actually mesh well. A Christmas duet single would be a good idea.
What confuses me is that people think songs on MIAM (Faded and Camouflage particularly) are about Nick, but it just doesn't add up. Faded was written and recorded in Spring/Summer 2013 and things clearly weren't bad in their marriage then; they had just had that amazing wedding-vow renewing at Disney Land remember. As for Camouflage idk when that was written. But then Money (S * / ...) was the last song she started work on, and that song is one obviously about Nick - and that song isn't speaking about him negatively.
That said, some of the lyrics throughout the album do make sense given the 'news' that's come to light recently.
I know it will all make sense though, but Mariah is the only one who knows why the album is put together the way it is.
I hope she does more acting, I usually cringe when musicians try crossover. But mariah, especially in recent projects precious & the butler, were one of the highlights on the movie. She can actually act.

BYE. Faded is definitely about Nick. Mariah has never liked the fact that he works so much so unecessarily. Thats what Faded is about. And Camouflage was written very late in the album cycle, you can tell by her vocals. Also she said it barely made the album or something. MIAM is about Nick besides Cry. Which is obviously about Tommy
I am almost certain "Faded" is about Nick. She said she had spent a lot of time alone during her difficult pregnancy, he was always somewhere but not there for her.
I'm even more sure that "Cry." is not about Tommy. It's way too tender to be about him:

I don't know why Cry. would be about Tommy when the speaker (i.e. singer) is obviously still hoping for the relationship to work. I can so relate to that song, when you're in a relationship and y'all are at an impasse and you really just need to get together, talk it out, cry, etc. It's not exactly a negative song (thought there are some negative emotions there, of course), so I really think it's about Nick.

I entirely agree with feelslikeadream (...). What she thinks of Tommy she made clear with "Side Effects": He is "weak", "violent", "dead wrong" – and she wants nothing but to break free from the "private hell" that she built with him, her "enemy".
In "Cry.", however, she wants to overcome the struggle with that very someone whom she still loves ("my love"). She wants to "kiss (him) soft and feel (his) hands on (her)". She looks retrospectively at what seems to be the beginning of their relationship and admits her own mistakes: She "didn’t give (him his) space back then" but she couldn't help herself because she was so in love, "truly too enchanted". I really doubt she would write and sing something like that about Tommy.
I've been wondering why she chose "Cry." as the opening track but it does set the tone for the album. It makes sense to me know: She is willing to "break down and cry", to reconcile with him ("Cry.", track 1) but he seems to have moved on already, he's "always somewhere but not there" at home with her ("Faded", track 2). That pretty much seems to sum up the situation they appear to be in.
