Don't be too harsh on this game until y'all have played it. It's very fun! It's the most bare out of all the base games we've ever had, but it's great at doing what it sets out to do regardless of this.

Wrong receipt. Sims 3 has a metacritic score of 86 and it received great reception. Despite it's flaws, it's deservingly close to TS2. You're using the metacritic score for the console version:

I have been missing this thread for a month Did some of you guys cave? I read some people sort of liked it but build mode isn't as intuitive as it seemed and loading screens aren't bad but are a little drag.

I have a macbook pro with windows through bootcamp but the game is getting kinda laggy ugh

Okay so this game is great over Skype. Me and my housemate got on Skype we had a group chat with her friends who have the game.
and made sims and downloaded them into each other's game, we could see what everyone was doing also.

We made a stripper sim called "Her Vajesty" and put her in the mansion and we killed men by burning them, and made her a lesbian.

Meanwhile we killed the goth family except Bella by trapping them in a room on our lot and burning them alive because they kept knocking on our door.

Yes it should be able to run it no problem on low settings. Make sure you update the computer first. If you buy through Origin you can return it after 24 hours if you don't like it/run into problems.

I'm kind of lazy right now but from my initial search, it's running Intel HD graphics so yes it'll be able to run on low resolution. I'm not sure that it would be less laggy than the macbook pro.

Update the OS or just run general updates? It runs Vista, will it not work on Vista?

Build mode is amazing. It's gives the best tools and freedom out of all of the other games.

Loading screens... they are a SERIOUS issue. I really wanted to be able to atleast freely explore within a street. Even jumping across next door causes a damn loading screen. It's so pointless when our systems are capable of better.
