Did they move her into hospice? I'm confused.

Joan Rivers has been moved out of intensive care -- but that does not necessarily mean her health has improved greatly.

Melissa Rivers just released a very guarded update about her mother, saying ... "My mother has been moved out of intensive care and into a private room where she is being kept comfortable."

It's not a great sign that she's been moved to a private room from intensive care -- where she would be more closely monitored by doctors and nurses.

As TMZ first reported ... Joan has been on life support since being rushed to Mount Sinai hospital in NYC last Thursday.

We don't know if she's still on life support.

This is great news, she's out of ICU, and of course she'd be moved to a private suite. Even I get a private room when I'm in hospital and I'm no Joan Rivers

What a mess. They don't move you from ICU unless your condition has improved. That journalist needs to do their research better

Not necessarily - sometimes patients are moved into private rooms where they can pass away with more privacy for the family, rather than being in a general ICU.

With the little amount of information that we have, she may have well been put into a private room in that ward.

We really do have little information, which is understandable on the family's behalf tbh.

Melissa is being way too short with her statements.

Things must be really bad and they must be trying numerous things to bring her back.

Melissa has always been annoying
She was literally fine last month though I don't get what could have happened during that surgery that this happened
However since she is going to a room she must be doing better

Melissa doesn't have to provide running commentary, I know I wouldn't be if it was my mother.
Joan is 81, the risks of going under the knife increase as you get older. Anaesthetic, the stress on your body. My grandpa went in for an operation on his back at 77 and died in recovery from a heart attack
