This is actually true. The only part that's going viral is the "My Anaconda don't want none unless you got buns hun", that was already viral before, showing in different tv shows, FRIENDS for example, so I think its success has to be with the original song, too.
Not saying Nicki's power didn't sell the song but it wouldn't be so popular if it wasn't for that line.
It's the highest female Rap song on every major iTunes chart in the world at the moment, is #10 on Rhythmic radio and rising, rising on Pop, rising on Urban, #7 on Spotify.
It's similar to Flo Rida's "Good Feeling". What she is rapping is absolutely meaningless, the only part that matters is the chorus. In essence, it really is not even HER song.
but everyone knows "Oh my god look at her butt", "Boy toy named Troy used to live in Detroit" "This dude named Michael used to ride mothercycles" etc

Except they don't. Just like in "Good Feeling" all anyone knows is "Ooooh sometimes I get a good feeling, yeah". The song is constructed completely around the sample and relies on it solely for its success. "Good Feeling" is essentially Etta James' song, as "Anaconda" is Sir Mix-a-Lot's song.
No lies spotted in the OP but it's obvious why it's seen as an original track. I see "Sampling" becoming a huge problem in the music industry in the coming years. More and more "artists" will start using samples as a majority of their songs, only minimally adding to the original and claim it as just a "sample".
If you look at a song like "Booty" by J.Lo, it makes no sense for Cory Rooney and Benny Medina to be listed as the main producers when the the entire production and chorus are taken from "Dat a Freak" by Diplo. I don't consider that a sample. I consider sampling to be an additional element in a song taken from another song. Using the original as the majority of the production should be considered covering or remixing. Artists like Kanye West and Drake include samples in the majority of their tracks but those samples never carry the song completely.
I agree, it is going to be a big problem especially in hip hop. I have no problem with them used artistically, but I don't consider a solo artist's work if the majority of their song, including the main appeal, is airlifted from another.

Speak for yourself. Tons of people love Nicki's parts in Anaconda and everyone considers it her song.
So what does Nicki have to it? Change it so that she says the chorus herself? Y'all so damn ridiculous and don't know hip hop.
There are differences between constructing an entire song around a sample, and using the sample(s) to ENHANCE your sound/rapping/musical artistry. Just as there are differences between bad music, and good music.
